We are a group of local residents, grave owners and supporters who have come together to protect this precious sanctuary in the heart of London.

We are working for the preservation, conservation and sympathetic restoration, for the public benefit, of Paddington Old Cemetery, in particular its historic architectural monuments and buildings, wildlife and green space. We will do this in partnership with its owner, Brent Council, and other local and national organisations.

Currently we are part of a 10 month consultation in partnership with Brent Council and London Historic Buildings Trust to explore the restoration and future use of the chapels. Please see the news section for details of the consultation survey and a full 3D walk through of the internal spaces in the chapels.

About

Paddington Old Cemetery is situated between Queen’s Park and Kilburn and dates from 1855, one of the first cemeteries to be opened following the 1852 Burial Act to regulate urban cemeteries. It was designed by Thomas Little, who was also responsible for Nunhead Cemetery, one of the so-called Magnificent Seven London cemeteries.
